Having made a few changes around my home office, I may have got a bit carried away. I had a sudden urge to indulge in a bit of decorating and paint some of the walls. Clarkie is such an enabler. She made me leave the house and took me to Homebase, just off the Oxford ring road, to get some paint.
Normally, I’d get tester pots and work out exactly what I want. But of course, lock down etc. So I got a yellow called ‘Happy Daze’ and a nice bright red which was called something nationalistic which nearly put me right off. I only wanted to paint two walls – the wall behind my desk and the empty wall behind the door. I also knew I wanted to do some abstract shape things, which I haven’t done since I had my place in Haddenham.
Somehow, the abstract shapes ended up not being. It’s sort of supposed to be a palm tree, but it could also easily be a giraffe. I can see either. There are some stars further down the wall too, but I didn’t take a picture of them somehow!
The wall behind the computer is most red with random shape chunks out of it. I’m intending to put more pictures over it, but I was still playing and didn’t really see why I should stay within the lines of the wall. I’ve made a mess of a lot of the joins. Ho hum. Good enough.
And, of course, the little house plant I picked up.
As well as being a great enabler, Clarkie has also started doing some woodwork. She’s pretty much teaching herself at this point, and is working on various projects as she goes. Fortunately for me, quite a few of these projects have been for me! So, now I have a lovely display unit for my taekwondo belts, and a custom frame for a photo collage I got printed.
And the belt rack is working out beautifully for my spider plant too!
