Running Shoes

I put this photo of my running shoes up on Instagram last week.

Running shoes

I’ve run over 600 miles in this pair of shoes, done multiple workouts, played a couple of rounds of golf, and done at least one taekwondo session in them.

I’ve never actually been convinced that these are the right size. I could really do with them being half a size bigger, but they don’t come in half sizes. They are obviously ok, but sometimes they feel a smidge short. My worry is that the next size up will be too big and trip me up. I’ll probably find out if I replace them with more Vivos!

One thing I have been noticing is just how little wear there is on these shoes for all that exercise. Vivo really seem to have improved the longevity of their shoes. I’m not a high-mileage runner by any stretch of the imagination, so this is only my third pair since sometime in 2010.

My first pair had cracks appearing in the upper by 260 miles, and I replaced them at just over 500 miles.

My second pair made it through to 750 miles. The damage is a bit more obvious on this one.

I actually repaired that with some bath sealant, but the insole is also nearly shredded and there are close to holes in the upper.

But this pair of Primus are really hardly showing any wear at all at this point. There’s some wear on the soles, but I’ve got a while before they wear through. The soles are entirely connected to the upper still, and there are no cracks or creases showing up on the solid bits of the upper. So colour me impressed!

Now if I could just decide what size I am!
