Houses – so close
Finished inking the houses, I think the road is done. Just the sky to go. Unfortunately I’m away for two weeks now. The sky will have to wait.

Houses – Five
Getting closer. I really thought it might get easier as I went, but it’s not. The smaller houses still need details, but not as fully finished. Trying to balance that is a lesson. That’s our roof with the solar panels though. I’m nearly there!

Houses – keeping on
Just a little more. These houses at the end need delicate lines and concentration. I’m also trying to finish knitting a jumper, which is reducing my drawing time! I’ve got 2/3rds of a sleeve to go. Neither project is going as fast as it could be, but I’m edging forwards on both and that’s ok.

Houses – slow progress
I was supposed to make loads of progress this weekend. Somehow I’ve done everything else instead, and only managed the easy half of the third house. I think I’m a bit worried that my wobbly perspective has got too wobbly. That the shadows are wrong. No point stopping here though. It could all come out…

Houses – Second roof
Not a lot added today. I’ve worked on the roof tiles on that second house, added the shadow, and darkened the first shadow. A tiny bit of progress is better than nothing.

Got most of the second house done now. I need to do a little bit on the roof, the tiles are more complex than the first. I might need to test some options. That house has a nice rose by the front door, behind their bins. Its not flowering yet this year. I look forward…

Houses plus car
It feels good to ink that car in. I’ve drawn and redrawn it a number of times in pencil. It’s still only so-so, but it’s in ink now so it’s done!

Houses – One Down
I finished the first (biggest) house. I gave myself a touch of cramp in my hand doing the hatching. Worth it. Hatching is a weirdly magical thing. I draw the features of the house carefully, then cross through them. Magically they’re all still there, just grey now. I absolutely have to trust the process, because…

Just a tiny bit of progress. The last bin for that house (yes, they have three visible), the kitchen window. Started on the door. Tiny progress is still progress.

Houses with bins
A little more ink on this. I guess I could have removed the bins and made up some kind of hedge, but then it’s not a real street. They aren’t great, but hopefully it’s clear enough what they are supposed to be! This is definitely not going to be quick.

Houses – First Ink
It is begun. I love how crisp the ink looks, especially after the fluffiness of the pencil work. Of course, for a right hander I’ve absolutely started on the wrong side of the page. But it’s the end I’m more confident of, so that’s where I’m starting. Fingers crossed from here!
